The Mouse That Roared at BHHS  Byram Hills Stage 2014 presents The Mouse That Roared. In this Cold War satire, based on the 1955 novel by Leonard Wibberley, the tiny Duchy of Grand Fenwick goes to war against the United States when an American winery makes a knock off version of Pinot Grand Fenwick threatening the country's entire economy. And wins. The book was made into a theatrical film starring Peter Sellers in 1959 and adapted for the stage in 1963. With a cast of thousands (well, 25 BHHS students.) Humphrey Bogart in Sahara at NCPL  Humphrey Bogart stars as Sergeant Joe Gunn in this 1943 war film from Zoltan Korda. Bogie leads his tank crew across the Libyan dessert to rejoin their command after the fall of Tobruk. On their retreat they pick up 5 British soldiers, a Frenchman, and an Italian POW and stop to fight the Nazis to secure a water supply. The movie was filmed during the war as a propaganda piece for the US government but picked up three Academy Award nominations along the way. With a discussion by LIU Professor Valerie Franco. Samurai Rock at PAC  Yamato, The Drummers of Japan, bring their own blend of Samurai rock (and humor) to the Performing Arts Center for an evening of serious percussion. UBS Parade Spectacular
Skip the Macy's Day Parade and stay local with one of the largest helium balloon parades in the country. When we were there we saw Pink Panther, Popeye, Underdog, (remember Underdog?) Last chance to register for the Bedford Turkey Trot  There's still time to register for the 7th annual Bedford Turkey Trot. Don't wait. This event sells out! Billed as "New York's toughest 5K," this event raises funds for the Bedford Community Table/Pantry and includes a 2 mile walk event. Harvey Presents: Regis Philbin  The Harvey School launches its new Harvey Presents arts and education series with Getting to Know Regis Philbin. Regis, who holds the Guinness Book of World Records for the most time spent on broadcast television, will discuss his career in television from The Joey Bishop Show to Who Wants To Be a Millionaire with Harvey School headmaster Barry Fenstermacher and high school senior Michael Goodkind of Bedford. Westchester Phil with Jeremy Denk  Jeremy Denk returns to the Westchester Philharmonic as soloist in a program that includes Mozart's Piano Sonata in F major, Beethoven's Quintet for Piano and Winds in E-flat, Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 25, and Haydn's Presto from Symphony No. 2. NYBG Holiday Train Show The New York Botanical Garden's Holiday Train Show features more than a dozen large scale model trains (some measuring over 2 feet long) zipping across nearly a quarter mile of track. The spectacular backdrop features 140 scaled replicas of iconic New York buildings made of bark, twigs, fruits, seeds and pine cones. So if you're up against the wall with Jingle Bell Rock check this out: Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular hits the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, the Dark Star Orchestra spins Dead tunes in Tarrytown, Rod Stewart and Steve Winwood are back together for the very first time at the Garden. Plus, Cyndi Lauper, Elton John, Pink, Beyonce and John Pizzarelli all take the stage in December.

Armonk's Frosty Day Parade  Start your day with a free Yoga class at Sage Yoga. Watch Frosty cartoons in the library. There's free hot cocoa, cookies, egg nog and balloons in & around town all day. Plus, face painting, craft workshops, an open house at Smith's Tavern, and a Frosty scavenger hunt at Hergenhan Hall. You can even get a free Frosty design on your nails at It's All About You Nail Salon. The parade begins at 4:30pm. Immediately after there will be a Holiday lighting ceremony and entertainment at Wampus Brook Park.
