Bedford Chamber Concerts  Bedford Chamber Concerts presents cellist Edward Arron, musician Anthony Newman, and the Bedford Chamber Ensemble in an evening of Haydn, Vivaldi and Schubert. Armonk Players: Something's Afoot  The Armonk Players presents the murder mystery musical Something's Afoot, a genre spoofer that takes aim at Agatha Christie's Ten Little Indians. After its Broadway run in 1976 it caught fire at London's Ambassador Theatre and was nominated for the Olivier Award for Best Musical. Directed by Pia Haas. Musical Direction by Assaf Gleizner. Chappaqua Craft & Gift Fair  The Chappaqua Craft & Gift Fair showcases 100 vendors exhibiting handcrafted items for the Holiday gift season including fine pottery, jewelry, designer clothing, handbags, accessories, bath/beauty products, and gourmet food. The fair is the Bell PTA's largest fundraising event and supports student enrichment programs such as the Jacob Burns Film Center's Literacy program, Bell reading lounge, Hudson Valley Shakespeare workshops, and after school programs in environmental studies, music and computers. Dance at the Performing Arts Center Purchase  Purchase College alum Doug Varone is no stranger to PAC but this is the first time he and the company he founded have been an official part of PAC's Dance Series. Since establishing the company a quarter century ago Varone and his dancers have been celebrated for their compelling take on contemporary dance. "Feelin' Hot, Hot, Hot" at The Emelin  David Johansen, front man for the protopunk band The New York Dolls, brings his Buster Poindexter act to the Emelin Theatre. Johansen launched his Buster Poindexter persona in the mid-80's and honed his lounge kitsch second career in downtown lofts and Manhattan piano bars reaching the height of his popularity with his party classic "Hot, Hot, Hot" in 1987and his 1994 album of songs about drinking, Buster's Happy Hour. Let them eat Rococo ... in Chappaqua  Mark Lawrence, of Chappaqua's Susan Lawrence Gourmet Foods, plays Viola da Gamba with the chamber ensemble Ars Antiqua in a program titled The Rococo Music Room: Paris in the Age of Revolution. Industrial Sublime at the Hudson River Museum  HRM's new exhibit, Industrial Sublime: Modernism and the Transformation of New York's Rivers: 1900-1940, offers 60 works that explore the new mode of landscape painting in the early 20th century that reflected America's growing industrial power. As the machine age touched the country's rivers, artists exchanged mountains and trees for cranes and bridges in a new artistic movement called the Industrial Sublime. Through 1/17/14. Joshua Bell at the Performing Arts Center, Purchase  The Boston Herald called Joshua Bell, "the greatest American violinist active today." NYBG Holiday Train Show The New York Botanical Garden's Holiday Train Show features more than a dozen large scale model trains (some measuring over 2 feet long) zipping across nearly a quarter mile of track across a landscape of 140 scaled replicas of iconic New York City buildings made of tree bark, twigs, fruits, seeds and pine cones. The Table at the Emelin Theater  Blind Summit Theatre, the theatrical innovators who worked the 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremonies, explores the existential crisis of a cardboard puppet who hates his life as a children's birthday party entertainer. Since its award-winning debut at the Edinburgh Festival, The Table has become a global phenomenon performed from Shanghai to Manhattan. Westchester Phil with Jeremy Denk  Jeremy Denk returns to the Westchester Philharmonic as soloist and leader of an evening that includes Mozart's Piano Sonata in F major, Beethoven's Quintet for Piano and Winds in E-flat, Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 25, and Haydn's Presto from Symphony No. 2. Register for the Bedford Turkey Trot  Registration is open for the 7th annual Bedford Turkey Trot. This event sells out so please sign up early. Billed as "New York's toughest 5K", this event raises funds for the Bedford Community Table/Pantry and includes a 2 mile walk event.
