Farmers Market When What To Do goes to a farmers market we head straight for the Big Bang coffee and the cheese brioche. Then we check out the band. At a farm stand on the way home from the country we will settle for some ugly tomatoes and local corn, but locally we want one-stop shopping. Music In Chappaqua Chappaqua's Summer Concert Series features three cover bands and a performance by the Chappaqua Orchestra on successive Wednesday nights from 7/10-7/31.  All concerts are held at the New Castle Recreation Field, and feature food vendors and activities for kids. The Bruce Springsteen cover band Tramps Like Us, fronted by Chappaqua resident Mark Salore, opens the series on 7/10. Here's the rest of the lineup: Chappaqua Orchestra: 7/17; One Hot Night: Neil Diamond Cover Band: (can hear the crowd singing "Sweet Caroline"?) 7/24; Holla Back: 80's Tribute Band: 7/31. NCPL Summer Music Series
Russ DeFellipis The North Castle Public Library's Summer Music Series spans musical tastes with jazz, blues, world folk and cabaret offerings.
Russ DeFillippis kicks off the series tonight with his blend of jazz, blues, bop and pop. On 7/24, Judy Handler and Marc Levesque perform world rhythms on guitar and mandolin. The Blues Mothers improv their way through the Chicago blues, folk and rock on flute, harmonica and vocals on 8/7. Jonathan Biss plays Beethoven at Caramoor
Jonathan Biss Jonathan Biss, a former Caramoor Rising Star who The New Yorker  describes as "playing with unerring sophistication", returns to Caramoor for his first solo concert in the intimate Spanish Garden. Buried in Blue in Katonah
Burined in Blue The Westchester based R&B band Buried in Blue takes the stage in Katonah for the annual Town of Bedford Summer Concert. Buried in Blue has been entertaining audiences for over two decades with their blend of rhythm & blues, funk, and rock and roll. The concert is presented by the Katonah Memorial Park Association and the Bedford Recreation Department. Bring blankets, chairs and picnic supplies. Fri, 7/12: 7pm. Menus in the Movies in Chappaqua
El Bulli Chappaqua resident, food author, and film buff Carol Durst screens El Bulli, Cooking in Progress. For six months every year, renowned Spanish chef Ferran Adria closes his restaurant El Bulli to prepare his menu for the next season. Brett Dennen The Peak 107.1 FM presents The Pleasantville Music Festival. This
9th annual event (Woodstock on a Westchester ball field) offers nationally recognized names that could be found on a bill for The Newport Folk Festival or Austin City Limits Music Festival. Such as, Brett Dennen, a 2008 Rolling Stone magazine Artist To Watch; The Kopecky Family Band, who NYT's music critic Val Haller compared to Fleetwood Mac; Delta Rae, who just cut a single with Lindsey Buckingham; Red Wanting Blue who have appeared on the David Letterman show; and many more. Emmy Lou Harris and Rodney Crowell Caramoor's American Roots Music series continues with a performance from the legendary country singers Emmy Lou Harris and Rodney Crowell. Harris is a 12 time Grammy Winner and Crowell is a multi-Grammy winner and a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Their performance celebrates the release of their new collaborative album, Old Yellow Moon. The Boston Globe called their album a collection of songs old and new, cutting across honky-tonk, classic country, ballads, and hell raisers." Sat, 7/13: 8pm. Yefim Bronfman Acclaimed pianist Yefim Bronfman and Peter Oundjian return to Caramoor with the Orchestra of St. Lukes for the symphonic highlight of the season. Bruce Museum In this new exhibit Darien resident  Robert Carley captures the American spirit in photographs of Old Glory in many forms including a pick-up truck (pictured here) a chain-link fence, a surf board, a farm silo and a hot air balloon. A Midsummer Night's Dream at Westmoreland Sanctuary
Westmoreland Sanctuary Here's an innovative new idea from the Westmoreland Sanctuary. Their new outdoor Shakespeare Festival presents an interactive production of A Midsummer Night's Dream from Denise Simon's Actors Workshop. This 60 minute family friendly performance incorporates the natural settings of the preserve as actors and audience move through the woods and meadows following the play's action. Grounds open 90 minutes before "curtain" for picnicking, and the evening ends with a marshmallow roast. Reserve seating required. Fri, 7/26: 6:30pm; Sat, 7/27: 2pm & 6:30pm; Sun, 7/28: 1pm. Shrek The Musical in Tarrytown
Shrek The Random Farms Youth Theatre presents Shrek The Musical at the Tarrytown Music Hall. The Random Farms Youth Theatre was created in 1995 by then 16 year old Chappaqua resident Anya Wallach. Since then Random Farms' productions have been professionally staged throughout Westchester County. Today members (kindergarten through college) come from all over the tri-state area and the group is the resident children's theatre company at the Tarrytown Music Hall.
