A Conversation with President Bill Clinton
President Bill Clinton Lester Crystal, former Executive Producer of PBS NewsHour, will engage President Clinton in a dialogue on issues facing the nation and the world. The event will also serve as the site of the conferring of a SUNY Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters. A wine and cheese reception will follow the presentation. The Shadow Box in Armonk
The Shadow Box The Small Town Theatre Company presents a staged reading of Michael Christopher's The Shadow Box. The play takes us through a day in the life of three hospice patients, their families and a psychiatrist interviewing them for a psychological study. The play won the Tony Award for Best Play and a Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1977. The Westchester Philharmonic at PAC
Eliot Fisk Guest conductor Tomomi Nashimoto leads the Westchester Philharmonic in a spring concert that includes Tachaikovsky's Serenade and Mozart's "Great G Minor" Symphony No. 40. He will be joined by guitar virtuoso Eliot Fisk for a performance of Rodrigo's Concierto Aranjuez. The New Yorker called Fisk "the king of American classical guitar." Sat, 5/18: 8pm; Sun, 5/19: 3pm. Gilbert & Sullivan Players The New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players present the Broadway revue, I've Got A Little Twist at the Westchester Community College. A veritable parade of hits for musical theater lovers, as this production pays homage to Rogers & Hammerstein, Jerry Herman, Bernstein, Sondheim, and Lerner and Lowe. The Castles of New Castle
Sun Dial Farm Castles of New Castle The New Castle Historical Society's Castles of New Castle House Tour showcases five homes in different architectural styles. Including, a country house built in 1918 for publisher George Doran, of Doubleday Doran, with views of the Hudson River and an eclectic art collection. Also on the tour is a 1920's Tudor Revival, a coachman's cottage, with a flavor of Bermuda reclaimed from a former estate, and a 18th century tavern. Pinkster Day Pinkster Day is an African-American celebration of spring. The earliest Pinkster days in the Hudson Valley date back to the 17th century. Phillipsburg Manor's (the only living museum dedicated to the history of slavery in the northern colonies) Pinkster festival recreates the spring holiday with a colonial-style celebration of music, dance and food.
