Slaughter Plant Investigated by COK Issues Meat Recall
Prompted by concerns about plastic in the meat, nearly 90,000 pounds of ground beef being distributed through the National School Lunch Program were recalled last month from Central Valley Meat. This slaughter plant was in the news last year when COK released a video exposing rampant abuse of animals that resulted in USDA temporarily shutting down the facility.

Vegetarian School Report Card
The grades are in for the New York City elementary school that serves 100% meatless meals in its cafeterias – and the results are impressive! Since implementing its meat-free menu in January 2013, the students' attendance, test scores, energy levels, and attention spans have all improved. On top of that, the kids are enjoying the meat-free meals and sharing their nutrition knowledge at home.
