COK Co-Files Lawsuit to Push for Truth in Egg Labeling
Animal welfare claims on egg cartons are currently unregulated in the US and without any federal oversight, egg producers can—and commonly do—mislead consumers about the treatment of hens. COK and ALDF teamed up to file a lawsuit against several federal agencies for failing to regulate these deceptive claims and to request mandatory production-method labeling on cartons, including the disclosure of “eggs from caged hens.”

2013 Genesis Award Winner!
The ABC World News report featuring COK’s undercover video inside a dairy cow slaughterhouse won a Genesis Award! After reviewing COK’s footage, the USDA shut the facility down citing “egregious inhumane handling and treatment of livestock.” This marks the second time that a news report featuring a COK investigation has won at the Genesis Awards.

Guilford, Conn. Public Schools Participate in US VegWeek
We’re excited to announce that Guilford Public Schools (GPS) in Connecticut will be celebrating US VegWeek with 100% meat-free menus in all four elementary schools and turning the daily entree in its middle and high schools into a delicious meat-free meal.
