ABC World News Report on COK Investigation Nominated for Genesis Award

The 2013 Genesis Awards ceremony takes place on March 23 in Los Angeles—and ABC World News with Diane Sawyer has been nominated for its hard-hitting report about COK’s investigation inside a dairy cow slaughterhouse. After reviewing COK’s footage, the USDA shut the facility down citing “egregious inhumane handling and treatment of livestock."

In the News: COK Op-ed Published in Clark Univ. Student Newspaper

Last week, the student newspaper at Clark University, The Scarlet, published a guest article by COK’s Erica Meier applauding her alma mater for participating in Meatless Monday. The increased availability of delicious meat-free fare in the student cafeterias helps to “foster the idea that each one of us has the ability to change the world for the better.”

In the News: "Across the country, bills seek end to animal abuse videos"

Despite polls showing overwhelming public opposition to "ag-gag" laws that aim to criminalize undercover investigations, agribusiness-supported bills have been introduced in several states this year.
