Winter greetings,
Below is a dazzling satinwood George III Hepplewhite style pier table.  The swell front overhang top is covered with brilliant satinwood which is twice banded in contrasting inlays of rosewood, then banded and bound at the edges again. Exotic woods such as satinwood and rosewood were brought to English furniture makers in the 18th century by traders sailing back from India or the Caribbean islands and used for their exotic colors and grains. The apron is filled with satinwood and flanked by contrasting inlaid tablets above each square tapered leg incorporating "stop-fluted" or "engaged " carved columns on cuffed feet in old dark mahogany finish.
Pieces of lighter wood can provide welcome contrast and relief to a room of dark hardwoods. No major repairs. H. 32", d. 17.5", w. 48". Incomparable at $2200.

A gentle stream flows though the wooded countryside. This is nicely colored view is in a smaller format. The oil on canvas set in a gilt frame and ready to enhance your room. H. 15", w. 12.5" overall. $490.
