We have had many new acquisitions in the last few days as well as this outstanding American Chippendale bowfront chest which just arrived today. This fine late 18th century example is of mahogany with pine and poplar secondary woods. Checkered inlay rims the overhang top, arcaded inlays complete the cockbeaded drawer fronts, and vine and tendril inlays detail the finely carved fluted quarter columns. This bold bowfront case is supported on large scale ogee bracket feet. Condition is very good with no major repairs.
the oval brasses are of the period. H.37", w. 39", d. 24" at center. This uncommon beauty will be the gem of your elegant rooms. Priced at $1800 awaiting your eager response.
