Greetings,
This week I am pleased to offer a companion pair of early paintings in oil on canvas that are a narrative of the martyrdom of John the Baptist. These are possibly Spanish and of the 17th or 18th century. These Biblical depictions  offer the story of St. John in a colorful backdrop that is the artist's depiction of Herod's richly furnished palace including textiles, furniture, costumes, and flooring. Later, appropriate framing, each 26" by 36" overall.

A ship's sextant, 18th or 19th century with the original mahogany conforming box, 11"by 11" and 5"  high. These are used for celestial navigation to determine longitude and latitude. $750. Ship portrait offered separately.

This English early Georgian tea or games table in mahogany, with shaped apron, well formed hips and slender curving legs on slipper feet has good color and grain. It features an end drawer as well as a hidden compartment locked within. Small size at a 30.5" width. Priced to prompt your excitement at $1650.

19th century bronze Louis XV style pair of sconces. Freshly wired. H. 22", w. 13". Heavy and of nice quality. $475.
