Greetings,
A bit cold here at around 0 degrees Fahrenheit, but this is not a time to lose speed. Much can be done now without the distractions of the garden and the lakes. Why not plan a winter party for yourself and a few friends? This will be just the incentive you want to get your days back to speed and fire up the group for some fun as well. Do not forget, of course, to add a few small or significant antiques to liven up your halls and get the conversation perking along. Below are some suggestions.
|
Seldom seen and a sure conversation starter, an American ship in Sunderlund soft paste, circa 1820, monogram, and verso with a parting couple and British ships in harbor. 9.5" tall. Right, a New York adjustable pianoforte stool, mahogany. Be my guest and take it for a spin. $275. Left, a Continental painted tin lamp, 19th century. Proper low lighting is esential for your parties. H. 21". $295.

Pair of flaring Dutch Delft vases with oriental themes in a rich cobalt tone, 18th century, rims shaved slightly, h. 10', signed. $525 the pair. French lobed garden pots, 19th century, of the most heavy cast sort. A pair with molded rims, urns, and swags. A most impressive type that one is tempted to declare as 18th century but I don't see the plinth marks. I'm using them atop a French commode. Layered paint. H. 9.5', w. 12". $795 the pair. Contact me quickly to avoid disappointment. This year, don't wait. Find yourself gratified for a lifetime.
Early thoughts of spring with blue eggs in floral outcrop. Oil by H. Livens, late 19th century. 8.5" by 12.5 overall.
