Our best wishes to you for the Holidays. Perhaps in this update we may have something for you to add your home's party ambiance. Might we have an appropriate gift for someone on your list? I'm including a selection of "just found" pieces for your imagination.

On the mantel above, left to right: a pair of early 19th century English Sheffield silver plated candelabra with fine detail, $1275 the pair, a similar pair of late Qing ginger jars, 8" diameter, $325 each, a Chinese export lighthouse coffee pot ( the usual handle repair), late 18th century, decorated with double monograms, $ 220, and an Anglo Indian brass bound box with interior till, 19th century, $225.

  Detail of games table drawer.

As I examined the games table, I noticed yet a second set of iron hinges to the near side of the folding top.  Looking further, this covered a compartment that was not filled with the volume of the side drawer. Within the back apron and hidden by the swing leg was a key hole and lock holding the main top in place. Surprisingly, the first key I "borrowed" from another table opened the lock revealing a great little place to hide things.

18th century Chinese export. No repairs.

A 5" scallopped bowl with a western scene of a man with a pipe with a woman standing near a western style basket. $125.
A 5" oblong export stand with fine detail. $110.

Close up of the candelabra base with putti .

Well detailed monogram on a lighthouse teapot, ca. 1790.
