Greetings,
This well carved ship with four masts is most unusual in that the sails are carved as well as the other details. From the late 19th or early 20th century, this work measures 27" by 37" overall and retains a wonderful wavy old glass. The white sails make a bold contrast against the navy ground and all is contained in a late 19th century frame with a scrolling rim. Please call or email for more details.

For the purist who must have period tole but will accept no restorations, here is a vermillion tray in late 18th century Hepplewhite oval form with pierced handholds with wear that reflects honestly its beguiling character and age. The gilt rim of leafage also has silver bell flowers which are most striking against the rare vermillion ground. 27 1/2" by 21". Also, unrestored, a pair of 1790-1820's chestnut urns with leafage and floral decoration of an unusual type. Looking at these very carefully reveals highly detailed work which is over raised areas executed much like lacquer furniture of the period. The urns themselves appear to be a pewter like metal. These factors in combination make me lean towards a Dutch attribution. Height is 12 1/2". Displaying these in the old worn finish with all the character of age will show all your sense of self confidence. Call or email for my price, but do not hesitate if you are tempted!
This mid 19th century Japanese Imari bowl has highly developed floral panels of bittersweet, blue, green, and gilt. The framework of the chandelier is a later brass neoclassical French design now wired with three arms and two bulbs hidden within the bowl. H. 21", d. 19 1/2". $545 for the alert reader.
