This English 18th century walnut " Queen Anne" stool glows with a lovely patina of gentle fading and use. The bold cabriole leg is ornamented with a central molding reminiscent of the earliest part of this glorious era and jount at the ankle to an interesting incurvate stretcher arrangement, pierced through at center. Minor repairs, size h.16", d.15", w. 19". Provenance available. Please do not hesitate to call or email with any questions on this or other pieces here. Here a still life, oil on canvas, offers a late summer harvest of fruit with a basket and a jar placed within the view. The quality of detail is very good with most pleasing foreground detail. The cove and leafage detailed frame appears original and is a well chosen type. The unrelined canvas has a stencil mark of a London canvas vendor. 22" by 28" including frame. Unsigned, 19th century.
