    Fine 17th, 18th, and 19th Century Antiques

Greetings,
One our recent purchases and a pleasure to offer are these seven English Chippendale type chairs, all circa 1760-1800. Each is of a well patinaed mahogany with great old color. These are sound, well cared for chairs that have been recently been reupholstered. Please note that this is the slip seat type that is easily recovered to suit your taste. Presently they are covered in a fine fabric with a tapestry stripe.
This set includes a matching set of six side chairs and a similarly carved armchair. The serpentine crests are molded and beaded, terminating in  carved ears above strapwork vertical splats. Each trapezoidal slip seat rests in seat frames on square legs with stretchers. H. 37 1/2" , seat width at front 20 1/2+". Minor old repairs. This handsome set is available at $ 4800 for the seven pieces.
