 Greetings,

Just arrived today, A lovely example of an early New Jersey tall clock by  Isaac Schoonmaker of Patterson. The pediment arch is over a painted steel dial flanked by fluted columns and over a highly figured central door again flanked by fluted columns on a plinth base. Schoonmaker worked about 1800-20's making clocks in the Chippendale form of native hardwood using eight day brass movements and is listed in Drost's "Clocks and Watches of New Jersey. This example is signed on the face as shown on the image above. The typical two train brass movement has an Osbourne false plate and has recently been cleaned and redone to meet the exacting requirements of the owner. It retains the fine original steel hands. This cherry example has a beautifully polished case and well painted dial. Please call or email for details. H. 7'7", w. 19".

This mid 20th century Venice canal scene is signed in the upper left and dated '62. I was charmed, as you will be, not only by the nostalgia of a Venice visit but especially by the soft tones in oil of this canal view with its angular view of these distinctive boats. H. 19 1/4" by 27 1/4". Never be separated from those memories of your travel. My gilt framed oil on canvas is temptingly priced at $795.

Attributed to Carlo Ciappa who painted in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, this oil evening scene is filled with the bold colors of two fishing boats resting on the shore against the atmospheric backdrop of the sun setting over a hillside village. Presently framed under glass as I bought it. The image is 11 1/4" by 15". Hesitation is unnecessary at $675.
