An exciting local discovery of fine quality, a cherry American Queen Anne highboy circa 1740-1790 in very good condition with only minor old repairs. The brasses are appropriate in style but later. This a desirable drawer and fan arrangement and a fine, well sculpted and balanced cabriole leg with pad foot on a highboy of excellent proportion. Descended in the Truesdale family of Connecticut. Purchased by us from the estate of a local collector, this country Connecticut tall clock, circa 1785-1810 offers outstanding American type inlays. the case is in good refinished condition retaining its original hood and feet. The works is a two train eight day brass movement which I have just had serviced. It is running and chiming at the hour. the face retains the original decoration. H. 88", w. 19", d. 9 1/2".
