Greetings,
One author said that a tall case clock is best placed by the front door as if it were your butler or a guard watching the days's comings and goings. Here is that opportunity for you. You can still tune up the house for your summer entertaining.
Yes, both are under eight feet tall and both have been just serviced and are running and chiming presently. These are eight day brass movements. Each has its maker's name on the face.
The mahogany Chippendale  example offers  a pediment arch flanked by fluted columns with more fluted columns, fan spandrels, and shell patera below. Note the well shaped door cresting. Under 7' 5" with center finial in place. $2850.
The black lacquer George III clock is actually a bottle green at close look with playful Chinoiserie scenes and leafage overall. Please note the high quality of the face with a silvered dial, moon phases, and cast ormolu spandrels.  Made in an era of immense Chinoiserie influence. The exoticism of this finish will be a welcome play against your dark hardwoods. Under 7' tall. $2950.

The George III Hepplewhite serpentine form knife boxes circa 1785 are a true pair They offer height of style with inlaid banding and flutes and open to reveal compass inlays. The interiors are well detailed and retain their compartment dividers. The lids have engraved escutcheon plates with ring lifts.
$3850 the pair.
