Student, Faculty, and Alumni Success
Michelle Pfister (above, MPH '14) represented the MPH Program at the 2013 Teen Pregnancy and Prevention Conference. "Attending...gave me the opportunity to promote our program to other interested students and professionals. In fact, many participants were not previously aware of the Graduate Certificate in Public Health, and some expressed interest in applying to the program. Also, I was able to network with professionals from a variety of community organizations as well as attend some really great breakout sessions on timely topics related to adolescent sexual health." Thanks for representing the program very well.
Sheila Guice (MPH '12) accepted an offer to participate in a 2-year Public Health Associate Program (PHAP) fellowship with the Center for Disease Control working under the Tarrant County Public Health Department in Fort Worth. She has been on the job for about a month. Congratulations Sheila!
Mackenzie Cain (MPH '14)was named Queen mother (nana Abena Enyiwah) in the community of Asemanso during her internship in Ghana with ProWorld. Mackenzie was recognized for her efforts as the lead intern for her organization HEPENS and raising over $1200 to install two poly tanks in the community. See a photo of Mackenzie in her regalia here:
Effective August 31, 2013, Dr. M. Kay Libbus (pictured below) retired from the University of Missouri. The MPH Program would like to thank Dr. Libbus for her efforts in the creation of the MPH at Mizzou and her hard work and dedication to the world of public health. Congratulations Dr. Libbus!
