Student Success

Three MPH students competed in the Mizzou Graduate Professional Council's (GPC) 30th Annual Research Creative Activities Forum. The event gives students the opportunity to showcase their work in front of their professors, mentors, colleagues, and visiting faculty. Competing in the Health Sciences, Medicine, and Veterinary Medicine presentations were Hayley Yaglom: "Seroprevalence of Toxoplasma Gondii in Missouri Goat Herds and Public Health Implications," and Kristi Eftink and Kelly Bowers: "Educating a Community: Health Interventions in Rural Bolivia."

Congratulations to Hayley (pictured above) for winning 1st place in the category and a $200 prize.

Online MPH Program

The Master of Public Health Program has received a $200,000 grant from the University of Missouri, One Mizzou 2020 Vision of Excellence to create an online MPH degree. This is an exciting option for working professionals, traditional and international students who are unable to travel to campus to take courses. The online MPH now offers the option for online Graduate Certificate students to continue working toward their MPH at a distance. The program is scheduled to launch in the Fall of 2014, but faculty and staff are working on placing all courses online right now. More detailed information about the program and applications for admission will be posted on the MPH website as it becomes available.
