Spectrumly Speaking
September 2014

Well it is that time again ... kids back to school, a more regular household routine, summer toys being put away and the leaves are beginning to show signs of change already!   How fast the seasons fly by!

We have all had a busy summer, enjoyed some time off and many new adventures and we hope you did as well.

But now, it is time to buckle down and get back on track with our plans;  budgeting, saving, personal & business goal setting and making strategic plans for the future.  We can certainly help you with the design and implementation of these important tasks.  Without goals and plans to reach them, you are like a ship that has set sail with no destination!

Wishing you the very best of the autumn season!

"Were you born in, are a citizen of, or a resident alien of the United States?"

FATCA (The Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act) was enacted in 2010 by Congress to target non-compliance by U.S. taxpayers using foreign accounts. FATCA requires foreign financial institutions to report to the IRS information about financial accounts held by U.S. taxpayers, or by foreign entities in which U.S. taxpayers hold a substantial ownership interest.

Due to these new US rules, we need to know and record this information.  If you answer 'yes' to the above question, please contact us.    Thank you.

Inflation may be down but don't count it out

Even at today's low levels, inflation eats into purchasing power and over time can erode your standard of living.

Be sure you are taking inflation into consideration when looking forward to retirement.

Are you having difficulty choosing a Trustee for your Child with Special Needs

Appointing the right person to manage your child's finances once you pass away is an extremely important, yet very challenging task.
Have you recently become an Empty Nester ?

Now that the children have 'left the nest', it is a good time to step back and take stock of your financial situation. Being on your own will probably cut household costs to some extent but there may be other outlays as well depending on activities planned and ongoing financial support for children at college/university.
