Mission Awareness Week - by Grace Ushe
Adams Church of the Nazarene, Kwa-Zulu Natal District - South Africa, held a prayer and fasting week for missions including three days of raising mission awareness. Lives were transformed. Many believers were challenged and had a better understanding of making Christ-like disciples globally.

Rev Shireen and Rev Collin Elliott shared mission stories and showed videos educating children, youth and adults. Lives where impacted.

Later, one child asked, "What does it take for a child to be a missionary?" A second child said, "I dreamt of laying hands on people." A third child said after seeing the mission videos, "I have learned to thank and appreciate God for what he has given me and to share with others."

Listening to these questions and comments from children is a good sign that God is speaking, even to children, to take the mission of Jesus to the whole world.

Editor's note: Rev. Shireen adds that this very rural church has caught the vision and exceeded expectations in praying, giving and caring.
ANU Law School Accredited - ANU news
Professor Leah Marangu, Vice Chancellor, announces that Africa Nazarene University Law School (ANULS) was granted full accreditation status by Kenya's Council of Legal Education (CLE). By a letter dated 29th May 2014, CLE communicated its decision to grant ANULS full accreditation for 5 years, making ANU Law School the first to be granted a 5-year full term accreditation by the CLE.

Professor Morris K. Mbondenyi, dean of the ANU Law School, states "The Law School was established in the year 2010 with the intention of producing lawyers with a difference. The main thrust of ANULS is to develop lawyers of integrity who are committed to the ideals of giving back to society and transforming the world at large. This practice is grounded on the institution's core values of Character, Competence and Community aimed at nurturing a vibrant community of lawyers who exemplify an attitude of excellence and service."

The principle of servant leadership is embedded in our education. We nurture our students to be of service to others. With this in mind, the students of ANULS have become aware of an existing knowledge gap among the Kenyan citizens with regard to civic education. They therefore established law clubs for high schools whose main objective is to create awareness among the youth on the laws of Kenya. The law club program covers content on the Constitution and human rights, among other areas of law.

Please join us to thank God especially when we realize that, ANULS secured accreditation before some of the oldest law schools in Kenya. This is a sure sign of the high standards ANULS has set over and above her peers in legal education in Kenya. The Bachelor of Laws program is set to prove ANU's motto: What begins here, transforms the world.
My Soul Says Yes
Nazarene Theological College held a Holiness Convention July 27-31. The convention, planned by chaplain Rev. Matt Marshall, is the opening event of the new semester. Students led the worship time which included prayer, testimonies, giving and song. Preachers for the week were drawn from faculty and alumni.  A fellowship time concluded the gatherings.

The worship chorus "My Soul Says Yes" wrapped up the atmosphere of the services. Students ran and danced in the aisles as they affirmed "My soul says yes for the Lord."

The congregation was challenged to ask the Holy Spirit what He wanted to do in their lives. Our desire should be to be changed though the ministry of the preached word.

Rev. Collin Elliott, the Wednesday evening speaker, said: "Before I was saved, my life was full of sin. But if I don't go on to sanctification after conversion, my sins are full of life. God forbid you have a life of sin and call yourself holy." He also reminded that it is the Holy Spirit who unifies the Body of Christ. "We can disagree about things, but we need to be united in the love of God."

At the end of the Wednesday service, the altar was filled with people seeking to know more of God.
Rev. Collin Elliott

Student Makabongwe Vena said:" I was really blessed to have been a part of this convention because I have found my true identity in Christ and have learned how to practically apply holiness in my everyday life."

Lecturer L.D.Gama observed: "Holiness Convention has been a wonderful experience at NTC. We have had different speakers, yet the speakers spoke as if they shared notes. It appears to me that God has a special message for NTC."
Once again God provided - by Dawie de Koker
The Agapé Church of the Nazarene in Rustenburg South Africa, recently had it's 17th annual VBS for children (Kinderfees). A total of 1125 registered for this week long outreach to the Afrikaans-speaking community of Rustenburg.

During the same week, the church also had it's 7th annual VBS for teenagers (YouthFest), with over 1000 registrations. The program included performances by South African Idols winner (and born again follower of Christ, Heinz Winckler), as well as national award-winning Christian band, Duis:Lig. The Word of God was preached by TV presenter Lindi Strydom and TV actor Anrich Herbst. Praise and Worship were lead by Agape's worship teams, as well as a team from ViaKruis Nazarene Church in Sasolburg.

Approximately 200 came to salvation at each of these VBS's, while counselors prayed with many more relating to issues ranging from drug and alcohol abuse, damaging relationships to suicidal tendencies.

Reports have been received from parents and teachers alike, that major changes have taken place in many a student's life. In some cases the parents have come to also give their lives to Christ, after seeing the positive change in their children's lives.

Despite financial difficulties in Rustenburg, because of a 5-month long strike in the Platinum belt, God has once again provided all the funds to cover all expenses.

A total of 200 volunteers helped to make both these events possible. See more photos at www.agape.za.org

Editor's note: Rev. Dawie de Koker is the senior pastor at Agapé Gemeente.(Agapé Church).

Please, let me know which stories you will be sharing with others...
