Appointment of new Africa South Field Strategy Coordinator -
By Dr. Filimao Chambo
As the regional director, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Mashangu "Harry" Maluleka as the new Africa South Field Strategy Coordinator effective January 1, 2014. I have every confidence in his ability to lead the field. With this appointment, the current field strategy coordinator, Rev. Collin Elliott, will be able to move full-time into the position of Assistant to the Regional Director for Church Growth & District Development. Rev. Elliott has held both positions since December 1, 2012. I applaud Rev. Collin and Rev. Shireen for their ministry and leadership on the South Field since April 2000. I am also pleased that they will now be a full-time part of the Regional Office team.

Rev. Maluleka currently serves as the Principal of Nazarene Theological College in South Africa and as the pastor of the Divine Hope Church of the Nazarene in Pretoria.

Rev. Maluleka brings broad experience to the new position. He has held long term pastorates at the Mothutlung Church of the Nazarene/1982-2006 and Divine Hope Church of the Nazarene/ 2007- current. He has been active on the Western (RSA) district holding leadership positions as district treasurer/1982-1988, district secretary/1982-1990 and district superintendent/1991-2002. Prior to his election as Principal of NTC, he served as Vice-Principal for
Academics - NTC/2003-2005. Malulaka presented Twsana programs for World Mission Communications - Africa from 1982 - 1999 which were aired by TransWorld radio and Radio Pulpit.  He is a gifted and powerful preacher often called upon to speak at Holiness Summits, revivals, and youth camps. Rev. Maluleka speaks 10 languages: Tsonga, English, Zulu, Northern Sotho, Afrikaans, Venda, Ndebele, Swazi, Xhosa and Southern Sotho.

Rev. Malueka has a Master's in Biblical Studies from Randse Afrikaanse Universiteit (1998) and a Bachelor's in Theology from NTC (1990). In addition, he earned a certificate in Business Skills and Entrepreneurship (University of Pretoria).

Rev. Maluleka is both a leader and scholar. He has been active with the International Higher Education Council, the Africa Region Course of Study Advisory Committee, and the Africa Region Education Committee. He is also a member of the Africa Theological Think Tank and has two published books: The Bible Speaks about Marriage (2002) and The Bible Speaks about Death (2003). He continues to write. His paper, "Let Them Call for the Elders of the Church: Divine Healing and the Church of the Nazarene in South Africa," co-authored with Regional Educational Coordinator Dr. Gregory Crofford, was chosen for the Global Theology Conference to be held in March 2014.

Rev. Mashangu and his wife, Remember, have three grown children.

His passion for God, the church and evangelism are evident in his mission to engage young professionals and help them find places of ministry. Maluleka has established rapport with the district superintendents across the field during his time both as a district superintendent and the Principal of NTC. I believe these relationships will provide a strong basis for helping build the church on the Africa South Field.

It is with great joy that I welcome Rev. Maluleka into the FSC team.
