Leadership Transition for Africa Middle Field
Dr. Filimao Chambo announces a transition of leadership on the Africa Middle Field. Rev. Chanshi Chanda has felt God leading him to resign as Field Strategy Coordinator for the Africa Middle Field. He has held the position since July 1, 2007. Rev. Stéphane Tibi will be the next Field Strategy Coordinator. The transition will take place over the next several months with Rev. Chanda's last day being June 30, 2013.

The regional director thanks Rev. Chanda for doing an excellent job leading and coordinating the work on the Middle Field.

Rev. Chanda's passion is evangelism and training leaders. He and his wife are establishing a personal ministry organization called the Institute for the Study of Human Dignity and Economic Freedom (ISHDEF). He is grateful to the church leadership for trusting him with the leadership of the Africa Middle Field and asks his field for their full support of his successor.

Rev. Stéphane TIBI and his wife, Sandra are French and Swiss respectively. He is fluent in French and English and conversant in German.

Stéphane, although coming from an atheistic background, was first touched by the gospel after viewing the movie "The Mission" which shows the missionary work in South America. Deeply moved by what he saw, he was led to buy his first Bible and open his heart to the Lord.

Later, a Catholic priest gave Stéphane a book about the life and work of John Wesley, which lead to further reading on the concept of entire sanctification. The doctrine resonated in his heart. An internet search led to the Church of the Nazarene.

Since August 2006, they have served as missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene on the Africa Region. Currently his roles are academic dean of the Nazarene Theological Institute  /Institut Théologique Nazaréen and mission coordinator for the island of Reunion (a department of France). Also, he oversees the development of the StudyMaps (www.studymaps.org). He will continue with these roles even as he adds the responsibilities of Field Strategy Coordinator.

He is a graduate of  Nazarene Theological Seminary (USA) M.Div. (2006), University of Fribourg, Master in Religious Science (2003), and Ecole des Mines de Paris, Master in Science and Executive Engineering (1993).
