One of the simple joys of springtime is watching the natural world come to life once again. It's somehow both soothing and invigorating to witness the growth, absorb its energy and enjoy its fruits.
As the grass greens and the flowers blossom outside, so the inside of Second Chance's retail center is undergoing its own transformation of sorts. Although many of the improvements to our "vintage" 200,000 sq ft facility lie out of sight, some are more visibly "soothing and invigorating."
Of recent note is the unveiling of what we've been fondly calling "The York Room," based on a large estate we deconstructed in York, PA. Some of the architectural elements salvaged there now adorn the area. This space, which is also being expanded, primarily showcases upper-end home furnishings. It's to the far right as you enter the store. Just open the glass doors, stroll down the art gallery, and you're there!

FUN FACT
21 Miles of Molding!
As part of our recent annual inventory, we discovered that we currently stock over 110,000 feet of picture frame molding. That's nearly 21 miles worth! At just 65¢ per foot, there are all sorts of framing and repurposing ideas you could implement! You'll notice how we cut and affixed molding vertically as a top border in our new York Room (see video above), and other upcycling ideas are on our Pinterest boards.
