December 15, 2011 Issue No. 19

Season's Greetings Friend -

WE'RE MOVING!!!

Yes, it's true!  Second Chance has long desired a permanent home with a centralized operation.  On January 26th we will realize that dream as we open our doors at 1700 Ridgely Street in South Baltimore!

As you can see on the map below, the new location is just a short distance from our current one, but the impact will be tremendous.  We are excited about the improvement in the quality of space and the efficiencies we will experience under one roof.  Although it will take quite a while for the dust to settle, we're confident you'll appreciate the new accommodations, too.

As we make this announcement, we want to thank all of you who have supported Second Chance as a customer, donor, volunteer, partner, or as part of our talented staff.  Without your ongoing patronage and support, none of this would be possible, and we are excited about serving you better in the days ahead.

We also want you to rest assured that our location is the only thing changing.  Our mission is constant! We remain committed to giving people and product a second chance.  We are focused on our social goals of helping people overcome barriers to employment.  We are stalwart in protecting the environment; diverting tons of demo waste from landfills and giving new life to architectural items with historical significance.  We are prudent with resources so that we can continue our mission with fiscal responsibility.

In short, we will still Retrain, Reclaim, and Renew as we give people, product, the planet and our architectural past a second chance.  Be sure to check out the newly produced video to your right to get a sense of the impact of this mission.

Whether its on Warner Street for the next 42 days or at our new facility on Ridgely Street starting January 26, we hope to see you soon!

FINAL DAYS...
Help Outfit Trainees for a Second Chance!

There's just two weeks left to give a tax- deductible gift that outfits two unemployed Baltimore residents with the tools they need to succeed in the deconstruction trade: safety certifications (OSHA), tools, uniforms, boots, Life Skills, and guaranteed employment upon graduation.

We are now 32% of the way toward our goal and have until the end of December to meet it.  Would you consider making a donation through GiveCorps to enjoy the satisfaction of changing lives while helping develop a green-collar workforce?  You'll also receive a different Gift Coupon from a local business with every donation!
