In Pennsylvania, hundreds of thousands of children are missing out on the most important meal of the day.  At June Synod Assemblies, LAMPa kicked off a new campaign to expand school breakfast opportunities around the state. Read more here.

Thank you LAMPa advocates for all the hard work you have done to lead efforts to oppose bringing these high-cost loans into Pennsylvania. In the eleventh hour, the Payday lender's aggressive tactics have managed to derail the bill's progress and upend the entire state budget. Read more.
STATE FOOD PURCHASE PROGRAM FUNDING INCREASED

Thanks to your faithful advocacy, the State Food Purchase Program funding has been increased  for the first time in six years. SFPP is one of the Commonwealth's most important tools in fighting hunger. Read more about it.
NAME CHANGE FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WELFARE

The state's Department of Public Welfare will soon become the Department of Human Services. The objective is to bring Pennsylvania into alignment with other states' human services departments and county offices that provide human services to vulnerable persons and to remove the stigma associated with the word 'welfare. PA DREAM ACT LAUNCHES

Every year, 800 Pennsylvania high school graduates walk out of their classrooms and into a world that is closed to them because they lack the proper paperwork. LAMPa is mobilizing the Lutheran voice in the state to join together to call for the passage of Senate Bill 713, the DREAM Act. Read more.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR LAMPA'S 35TH ANNIVERSARY


Lutheran Day at the Capitol will be a special gathering to celebrate LAMPa's 35th Anniversary! It will include a day of worship, learning and activites based at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill followed by an evening dinner and program held in the State Capitol Rotunda.
