NAME CHANGE FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WELFARE 
The state's Department of Public Welfare will soon become the Department of Human Services. The objective is to bring Pennsylvania into alignment with other states' human services departments and county offices that provide human services to vulnerable persons and to remove the stigma associated with the word 'welfare. Lutheran Day at the Capitol will be a special gathering to celebrate LAMPa's 35th Anniversary! It will include a day of worship, learning and activites based at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill followed by an evening dinner and program held in the State Capitol Rotunda.
