Join the Faith Community to Support Expanding Medicaid

Join with people of faith around Pennsylvania to provide health coverage for at least half a million of our neighbors by signing this petition to Governor Corbett to accept an expanded Medicaid program. On Sunday, April 28 focus on access to health care using resources on the LAMPa website. Then sign on to this faith community letter to Governor Corbett.  
Payday Update - Senate Bill Anticipated

A new bill to legalize payday lending is on track to be introduced soon. Look for an action alert to contact your senator when details are available. LAMPa continues to make visits to present the faith community's opposition to predatory lending. Check out this new study by the Pew Foundation  and take action by:
  • sending a letter to the editor of your local paper in opposition to lending. Check out LAMPa's LTE guide and this example.  
  • call your State Senator to voice your opposition

Moved To Do Something - To Act...To Advocate -
Saturday, April 13, 1:00 - 4:00
Learn about how to make a difference on the local, state, and federal levels, with leaders from LAMPa, the Pennsylvania Interfaith Impact Network, the ELCA Washington Office and PA State Senator Jim Ferlo.   St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 304 Morewood Ave., Pittsburgh. Immigration Forum - Thursday, April 25, 9 - Noon at The Lutheran Center in Allentown. Join leaders of the Northeastern PA Synod to learn about current issues in immigration and action you can take.

Addressing Climate Change - Saturday, April 27, 11:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Lutherans Restoring Creation and LAMPa invite you to a showing of the documentary film "Chasing Ice" at Camp Lutherlyn, followed by discussion of action on climate change.
