Greetings!

From time to time I hear "everything is about RPAC", but sometimes I hear "wow, after listening to visiting legislators I realize how much impact we have".
Our Governmental Affairs Director, Kristen Jungles invited several legislators from Springfield to join our Closing Club Members, Board Members, Major Donors and other guests at the Legislative Reception last week. Senator Karen McConnaghy, Representative Kay Hatcher, Senator Linda Holmes and Representative Stephanie Kifowit all spoke about the unique way the REALTORS have members assigned to members of the legislature that can be called upon when an issue comes up that our state leaders need additional information on.
The reception was a kick off for the Closing Club and the Kristen and the leadership of RAFV will introduce the initiative at the IAR meetings this week. The Closing Club concept has caught the eye of our state leadership and it's quite a feather in the cap for RAFV to have the opportunity to share this program.
So, while "everything" is not about RPAC, it IS important to our future when we do speak about it.

***Wednesday Deadline for drop off ***- We now have Valentines available at the office to sign, stop in soon to sign your Valentine card.  In January the Industry Relations Committee is gathering Valentines for Our Troops. The goal is to fill as many boxes as possible with a Valentine and box of candy hearts for the troops serving far from home. We will have a booth at the Superbowl Tradeshow at the Beehive on January 23 where you can stop by and sign Valentines. You can drop your Valentine cards off at the RAFV Office anytime and there will be Valentines available to sign.  We are accepting donations to provide the candy and cover shipping costs.  

 

There will also be a Blood Drive on  Thursday, February 21 from 12-2pm at the RAFV Office, so roll up your sleeves and share the gift of life.

ONE TON

  That's The Goal!

 

Starting today the Industry Relations Committee will begin our One Ton Food Drive 

at four different offices until March 16.

 

The food collected will be given to the Northern Illinois Food Bank. We would like you to help us collect One Ton of food! 
Download the Shopping List of items most needed by the Northern Illinois Food Bank and then drop your donation at one of these locations. Please feel free to print and share the shopping list.
