SPECIAL UPDATE

Make your voice heard on March 24 and April 7.

The future of San Rafael Elementary
and public school in west Pasadena is at stake.

Make your voice heard!

A public hearing is scheduled for Monday, March 24, at 7 p.m. in the San Rafael Elementary School auditorium, 1090 Nithsdale Rd.

The purpose of the hearing is to present the options for lease or sale of the school property once the program is moved to another location on or after the start of the 2017 academic school year. Members of the 7-11 Committee and staff of Pasadena Unified School District will be on hand to present the committee's priority use list, answer questions, and hear input from neighbors and the community.

The West Pasadena Residents' Association strongly encourages neighborhood residents, parents of enrolled students and others interested in the future of San Rafael Elementary School - the last public school in west Pasadena - to attend. A second public hearing is scheduled tentatively for April 7.

Our point of view: The WPRA believes that other options are feasible to avoid closing the last public school in west Pasadena and encourages the PUSD Board of Education to give those options very serious consideration.
