In the box. With the exception of leeks, we don't yet know what will be in our Thanksgiving week box. To help you in your meal planning for the big day, we'll include in next week's delivery day newsletter an early, sneakier peek at the contents of that week's box.
Turkey time. If you're in the market for a turkey for your Thanksgiving table, consider making it a locally and humanely raised bird. Slow Food Chicago offers a comprehensive list of local meat and poultry producers. It might take some checking at this late date to see who still has availability; if you strike out for this holiday, keep the list handy for next time.
Clear the fridge. Last year, Sheila (market seller, CSA delivery driver and a creative cook in her spare time) prepared some ideas for using up odds and ends from previous CSA boxes to clear your fridge and make room for holiday fare.
A la carte offerings. We'll update the online store over the coming weeks to add any excess produce we'll have available to help you round out your holiday cooking plans. Check back often and, as always, if you don't see what you're looking for, just ask.
