Dear Common Thread Members and Friends,

Bianca planting the hoophouse

Spring is finally here - in fact it feels like summer this week! We have been planting planting planting.  Today we finished putting in our onions and planted a hoophouse to tomatoes, cukes, peppers and eggplants.  We also planted our third round of beets, lettuce, escarole, scallions and baby lettuce.  We have also already planted brocolli, cauliflower, carrots, potatoes, radishes, turnips, broccoli raab, arugula, spinach, fennel, bok choi, chinese cabbage, kohlrabi, cabbage and kale.  Peas go in tomorrow.  The garlic is growing fast, already a foot tall.

We are still aiming for a June 1 start date for the CSA but

Dan constructing our new hoophouse

we may need to start distributing veggies a week later depending on how quickly the crops grow.  The large snow pack took a long time to melt and delayed our first tillage some.

We still have shares available - please keep spreading the word!  There is still space at all our sites. We especially need more members in Norwich, UU Church in Utica, Manlius, Rome, Cicero and Camillus to be able to deliver to those sites.
