Dear Common Thread Members and Friends,

Wendy clearing snow off greenhouse to let the light in

The 2015 growing season has started!  Our seeds are here and Sophia, who apprenticed at the farm last year has come back for another season, yay!  She and Wendy have been busy getting the greenhouse up and running this week.  It was no small matter, given the deep snow and cold temperatures but we now have 130 trays of onions started (not quite all of them) along with celeriac, several perennial herbs, and early eggplants and peppers.  Asher has been busy ordering supplies and equipment.

We welcome help with seeding in the greenhouse - good times this week are Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon between 1:15 and 4:30 pm.  Please let us know if you plan to come so we can be ready for.  It's supposed to be sunnier this week than last so it should be lovely in the greenhouse.

We have a new Fayetteville drop off location:  Freedom of Espresso in Fayetteville has kindly agreed to host a Thursday afternoon vegetable drop off this season.  We are still looking for host sites in Norwich, Sherburne, Oneida, and New Hartford as well as being open to workplace CSA drop offs in the Syracuse and Utica areas - please let us know if you have any site ideas.  Please note, we have changed all our Syracuse area sites to a Thursday delivery for 2015.  Utica area sites will stay as Tuesday deliveries (except for the Thursday Clinton Farmers Market).

If you haven't sent in your form yet, now is the time!  Please continue to let your friends and neighbors know about us.   Also, please consider sponsoring a week, month or full season of CSA membership for a family in need. Thanks to the generosity of our members, we have already been able to subsidize four shares for 2015.  We continue to receive inquiries from folks who hope to participate but can't afford the full price.
