Hello Common Thread CSA Members and Friends,
We have started our first seeds! Leeks and onions with more onions and herbs to do soon. It still doesn't feel like spring outside but we know it's coming!
Seeding, anyone?
For those of you who are interested in doing some seeding and are able to carve out some time on a Monday, we welcome you to join us in the greenhouse this Monday, March 11 anytime between 1 and 4 pm, and/or next Monday, March 18, at same time. It's good to wear layers, because depending on the weather any given moment, it can be a bit chilly or quite warm in the greenhouse. RSVP is helpful but not necessary.
Housing, anyone?
Two of our apprentices, Samantha and Timothy, have started working at the farm part time and in April they will go to full time and move down from Syracuse where they are currently working at the Green Planet Grocery. They are currently looking for housing for April through October. They would like to rent an apartment locally but would also consider renting a room in someone's house. Local members: if you have any leads on housing for Tim and Sam please let us know.
Syracuse CSA fair, come visit us!
The Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York's CSA Fair in Syracuse will be this Saturday, March 9, from 1-3 pm at the Erwin First United Methodist Church at 920 Euclid Avenue. We'll have a table there with information about the CSA and we'd love to meet some of our Syracuse area members and friends there.
Our Best, Wendy and Asher
