Below are your announcements for the week of February 24, 2014.
1. Library News

The library has been jam-packed the last two weeks! All freshmen received training on the new iMovie Mac program available in the library, which they are now using to create videos for Mrs. Osterman's biology course. Many have shown great creativity and enthusiasm! Mrs. Pettit's seniors have just begun researching careers and colleges, while Mr. Millare's juniors are gathering books and database articles to prepare for their upcoming morality research paper.  In the midst of all this learning, the library is celebrating a milestone. This week we surpassed last year's total number of checkouts! The library collection totals just over 6,000 items, and so far this school year 2,200 have circulated! We are delighted that students and teachers love their library.

As a reminder, students may access the databases from any computer or mobile device. It's easy. Visit www.PopeJohnLibrary.weebly.com/research, choose a database, and login. All have the same login and password.

Feel free to email Mrs. Dronet anytime for research help edronet@pj23.org.

2. 2014 Gala
We still have some items that were won in the silent auction that have not been claimed by their owners! If you bid on something but left before check-out could be completed, please contact the Advancement office to see if they are holding on to your winnings.

Any auction items that have not been picked up by Friday, March 7 or had other arrangements made will be sold in the school garage sale.

This year, Pope John is collecting used electronics, ink cartridges, and jewelry for recycling and will receive fundraising dollars for the technology department for every item donated. Bring your items to the business office and drop them off in the marked box! Contact Gillian Kruse at gkruse@pj23.org for more information.
