1. Raffle News
Our next raffle ticket collection day is Tuesday, January 21! Each student will need to have turned in $320 worth of raffle tickets by this day in order for students to earn their final raffle holiday and not have to come to school on Valentine's Day. We are close to reaching our goal, but still need every student to turn in at least $320 of tickets to reach it! If you are uncertain how much your student still needs to sell, you can contact [email protected].

There is still time for students to sell raffle tickets at parishes! This coming Sunday, January 19th will be a great opportunity for anyone who wishes to sell their Raffle Tickets after mass at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, located at 6646 Addicks-Satsuma Rd. Mass times are as follows: 7:00am, 8:30am, 10:30am, 12:15pm & 2pm (Spanish). Please wear your uniform and make sure to bring money to make change. For more information, please email Giselda Chomer.
2. 2014 Gala

The tenth annual school gala - Prom: The Retro Romance - will be here before you know it! The school is currently looking for items to list in our silent and live auction during the event, and if you have any, it's time to send them in to the Advancement office! We are also looking for some volunteers to help us solicit items from their favorite local businesses. While you are out shopping, please take this item donation form to your favorite businesses and ask for their support of our school! We are especially interested in items in the men's, collegiate, beauty, and evening-out categories.

Please consider picking up an item in one of these categories for the auction. We are still looking for some great items!

We have had some great items come in so far! To check them out (and plan your purchases ahead of time), view our photo album online!

For more information about this year's gala, please contact Sue Bruno at [email protected]

3. Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Schools Week

Sunday January 26th, 2014!

Calling All Pope John XXIII High School Parents, Students and Families!

PJ23 Family, We are in need of volunteers during Catholic Schools Week at as many Katy/ Houston Area Parishes as possible.

This is the designated Sunday for all private schools to set up a table or booth in order to advertise for their school during the Mass times.

We typically have parent and student volunteers sign up to work at their Parish/ place or worship for a few Mass times. We set up a table or area and give out school information and share our experiences with perspective students and families who are interested in applying to Pope John 23 High School.

If you are interested in signing up, please contact Mrs. Carole Hoth and let her know what Parish/ place of worship and what Mass times you are interested in working. We will contact you this week in order to plan what school decorations and information you will pass out. We will need to know who is interested as soon as possible in order to reserve spaces at each Parish/ place or worship.

10. College Counseling News

The Mid-Year Senior Grade transcripts and updated GPAs are NOW available to send out to Colleges and Universities.  A Mid-Year transcript is not a requirement for every College and University so if they have not contacted you to inform you that it needs to be sent, you are under no obligation to have it sent out.  If it is not required by a certain school/s but you still wish it to be sent out, you are welcome to complete and turn in the form with the fee and list the name/s of the school where you wish it to be sent on  College Counseling page of the Pope John XXIII website.

This form needs to be filled out by any student who is required to or wishes to have their Mid-Year transcript sent to any College or University and must turned into Mr. Tesone in the main office.  All release forms that have been completed and turned into Mr. Tesone before Monday, 1/13/14 have already been sent out.  All others please complete this form and turn it in with the $3.00 per transcript copy fee even if you have emailed or spoken to Mr. Tesone about having the Mid-Year transcript sent in order to ensure that he has a signed confirmation that you wish for the transcript to be sent out.
