Prayer Line
At Pope John, our school community lifts each other up in prayer during times of need. If you have a prayer request, or to join the prayer line, please email atm8789@sbcglobal.net.

We are pleased that Pope John has been selected to represent schools across the nation by participating in the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). NAEP provides a common measure of student achievement across the country, and the results provide information about student achievement to educators, parents, policymakers, and the public.

The NAEP assessment will be given on Tuesday, February 26th at 8:00 to SENIORS ONLY. Students will be selected to take either the mathematics or reading assessment.

The assessment will take about 90 minutes. The individual results are completely confidential, and the results will be used for statistical purposes only.

FRESHMEN, SOPHOMORES, AND JUNIORS WILL HAVE A DELAYED START ON FEBRUARY 26TH. CLASSES WILL START AT 9:40. THE SCHOOL WILL BE OPEN AT THE REGULAR TIME FOR STUDENTS TO BE DROPPED OFF.

2. Pope John 5K Fun Run

The Get Up and Glow 5K Fun Run is just around the corner and when you register you can now help a Pope John sports team or performing arts organization win $1,500. The group that has the most number of people register for their team will win $1,500. Participants will be able to choose a team from a drop-down menu on the registration website. If you have already registered, you can sign-up for a team at package pick-up before the race.

We are also in need of race day volunteers to help mark the course and assist with registration materials. These volunteers can also "donate" their time to one of the student organizations to help them gain credit towards the $1,500. To volunteer, please email cblanton@pj23.org.

The race will be held on campus on February 23. A family 1K will take place at 4:30 PM and the 5K race will begin at 5:30. A Glow Run After Party will follow with food and music. For more information about the race and instructions on how to register, please visit the 5K Fun Run page on the Pope John website, www.pj23.org/5Kfunrun.
