Pope John XXIII High School has created an e-mail address for your child. This email address is designed specifically for use within the Pope John community to promote greater academic collaboration and communication; therefore the e-mail accounts are restricted for that purpose.
Students have received instructions on how to use this new e-mail account and setting their personal passwords through their English class. Students are expected to check this email account regularly.
Below are your announcements for the week of January 28, 2013.

1. Raffle Tickets
We only have one ticket collection day remaining (Tuesday, February 5) so make sure you get your tickets and money in, Lions! You won't want to miss out on the two spring raffle holidays!
Families will also be able to sell extra raffle tickets to go towards their family commitment credit. As of December 2012, MORE THAN 50 FAMILIES have received some credit towards their family commitment for raffle sales. For every ticket/book that is sold above the 15 that are required to receive all of the raffle holidays and incentives, the family will receive family commitment credit. For example, if you sell 20 books, you would get credit for 5 for your family commitment (or $100). If you have any questions about the raffle and family commitment, please contact Julie Koch, Gillian Kruse, or Candace Brawner, raffle chairs.

3. Aloha! Gala
Aloha! It's not too late to purchase tickets for the Gala or submit items for Silent Auction. Donating to the silent auction is a great way to fulfill your family commitment.
You can purchase your Gala tickets several ways this year. If you are paying by check you can pay by mail or drop your response card at school. If you are paying by credit card card, you can purchase by mail, by phone or email. Contact Claire Blanton at (281) 693-1000, ext. 119 or cblanton@pj23.org.
Donation forms can be found online or available at the front office. Any questions should be directed to our Silent Auction Chair, Ann Fontenot. Ann's contact information is as follows; ann.fontenot@earthlink.net or 832-212-5204.
We need volunteers to assist us with check in and check out. There is also a need for volunteers to help set up the 2 days prior to the actual event. We will be working the day and evening of Friday, February 8th and the morning and early afternoon of February 9th. Please contact Sue Bruno at SBAloha13@gmail.com if you are interested in helping with either one of these areas.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to another successful event.
Kristi Rogers & Sue Bruno
You may underwrite a portion of the event (or solicit an area business to do so), solicit or donate an item (the amount it sells for is the amount you will receive in credit), or solicit an advertisement for the gala program to receive family commit credit. The deadlines for these are in late January to early February, so don't miss out on these ways to work on your family commitment credit!
