1. School Lunch
Please go to your lunch account at www.myschoolaccount.com and update your account status. Many accounts are currently overdrawn and need to have more funds placed in them.
ALL ACCOUNTS WITH A NEGATIVE BALANCE WHEN WE RETURN TO SCHOOL ON MONDAY AFTER THANKSGIVING WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO CHARGE - MRS. JUSTUS IS NO LONGER ABLE TO OVERRIDE THE SYSTEM!! PLEASE BRING YOUR ACCOUNTS CURRENT AND SET THE SYSTEM TO NOTIFY YOU WHEN YOUR BALANCE IS LOW!!! Due to the raffle holiday, there will be no lunch served on campus on Wednesday, November 21. Students who will be attending the study hall day will need to bring a lunch.

|
2. Raffle Tickets
The majority of our students earned their first raffle holiday and will not have to come to school on Wednesday, November 21! Those that did not earn the holiday are expected to attend school for the study hall day; if you did not earn the holiday and do not attend school, you will be counted as truant for the day.
Our next raffle prize that students can earn is free dress week during the week of Fall Finals! Each student who has sold the equivalent of 8 books ($160) cumulatively by December 4 will earn the free dress week. So if you've already sold your five for the Thanksgiving holiday, you only need to sell three more!
We will have ticket collection days on both Tuesday, November 27 and Tuesday, December 4, so make sure you keep selling your tickets, Lions!

|
3. Family Commitment
Our annual gala and auction is coming up, and with it, many opportunities to fulfill your family commitment! You may underwrite a portion of the event (or solicit an area business to do so), solicit or donate an item (the amount it sells for is the amount you will receive in credit), or solicit an advertisement for the gala program. The deadlines for these are in late January to early February, so you've got some time to start working on your family commitment credit! Families will also be able to sell extra raffle tickets to go towards their family commitment credit. For every ticket/book that is sold above the 15 that are required to receive all of the raffle holidays and incentives, the family will receive family commitment credit. For example, if you sell 20 books, you would get credit for 5 for your family commitment (or $100). If you have any questions about the raffle and family commitment, please contact Julie Koch, Gillian Kruse, or Candace Brawner, raffle chairs.

College Information Night - Tuesday, December 4th at 6:30 PM in the Half Café.
Target Audience: Pope John XXIII underclassmen and their parents.
Format: This program will be presented Mr. Jeff Tesone, the new College Counselor. The end of the fall semester is when juniors will officially enter the College Guidance Process. From this point on, Mr. Tesone will begin the process of making the match between a student and the college she or he ultimately selects. A student starts this process by relating his or her aspirations and accomplishments both inside and outside the classroom to the expectations and desires of various colleges and universities across America. This program will reveal what colleges are looking for, how students should effectively package themselves, what to avoid, what to emphasize, etc. Mr. Tesone will review all the key factors that go into the mix including topics such as the role played by essays, resumes, letters of recommendation, college visits, test scores, course selection, etc. There will be ample opportunity for audience participation and certainly Mr. Tesone will be available for individual discussions following the conclusion of the program.

13. Girls Basketball
The JV started off strong in the Mustang tournament this past weekend with a convincing win over the YES academy. Saturday, they faced a very strong St. Agnes team, which would go on to win the tournament, and had to face Second Baptist in the 3rd place game. The Lady Lions controlled the game from the tip-off, and with the help of some nice shooting from Sarah Herbsleb, finished off the eagles to win 3rd place in the tournament. Congratulation to Victoria Daniels who was named to the All-tournament JV team.
The varsity faced a strong St. John's team in our first pool game in the Mustang tournament. The girls had a chance to win on Friday and Saturday, but could not find a way to finish, and lost 2 close games. They came back Saturday evening ready to play and led by their captain, Megan Rogers, were able to help hold off the YES academy and won the final game of the Mustang tournament 42-34. Katie Pierce was named to the All-Tournament team for her fantastic play in all 4 games.
