As we reach the end of a year and look to the future, it is always a gift to have the quiet reflective time after Christmas to truly appreciate all that we have. At Source Point Training, we are reaching a milestone as we start our 5th year together. Sine Lou and I declared our work together with our "New" company, filled with years of experience in working with people around the world in so many different arenas, we could not have imagined where the last 4 years would take us. And here we are today more excited than ever to begin our 5th year. There are so many people who have worked with us over the last 5 years who have been our teachers, our supporters, our coaches and most of all friends and advocates for what we have been up to. To say we would not be here without the cumulate resources around us would be an understatement.
Four years ago, our country and the many people in it, were faced with one of the greatest challenges of our lives as we entered the Great Recession. The jobless rate was over 10% and the housing market collapsed with people losing their homes and people facing lifestyle changes they would never have imagined. Perhaps most would say this was not the time to start a new business, even with the collective talent and resources we had. But Lou and I decided this was the time. With a vision of providing powerful trainings and coaching that would engage, educate and empower everyone to lead change, we stepped out and declared a new possibility - Source Point Training.
We collaborated and innovated, adapted and adjusted with new ways to reach people

and most of all finding ways to support people and organizations involved in change. Lou's contagious optimistic perspective and a master at being an advocate for what we do provided some great opportunities. Her passion and love for transformation keeps her traveling and always introducing our company and team to those she is with. Having the opportunity to work in Mexico City with the LeadLife organization teaching coaching skills was the realization of a vision I held for many years. Being able to have our talented bi-lingual coach's support this project was a win -win for everyone.
Kelly Mobeck has been a stand for Leadership coaching as we have had leadership training all over the United States in the last 4 years. Kelly is the BEST coach at enrolling people in their lives and to see that with committed action - anything is possible. Kelly has been instrumental in supporting organizations like Lanlogic, BrownTrout and First 5 of Santa Clara County to bring leadership coaching skills to their people and creating a coaching culture within their organization. Her enthusiasm for living life to the fullest coupled with her unwavering commitment to her family and two wonderful boys has inspired others to see that they can have it all.
Ginny Carter is the model of servant leadership. She has provided the backbone for all that we do and her commitment to being in service is demonstrated each and every day to the hundreds of people we have had the privilege to serve. Always cool under fire when the timelines on projects sometimes seem to collide, Ginny finds a way to navigate through the rough waters. As the primary resource that supports me each day, I am forever grateful for who she is, her dedication and all that she does to support our clients and projects to be the very best in every way.
Being able to create a strong partnership with Dr. Chris Lam and his team at InVision Asia has been a gift. I am so excited to be developing new professional certified coaches in China and Taiwan. For me the joy of seeing us come through the last 4 years and the excitement of this last year with new projects and greater impact around the world has been a realization of my vision. In looking to the year ahead, I am grateful to be able to work with so many talented and dedicated people and groups who are committed to growing both personally and professionally.
So what are the key lessons we have learned that will move us into our 5th year and beyond?
- Be clear on what you want and declare it again and again
- Stay open to see resources around you that will assist you to move forward
- Be willing to adapt and change; but always stay true to your values
- Trust yourself to be authentically who you are - there are no substitutes for the real you!
- Take a break and step away from a difficult situation to get a fresh perspective
- Let go of what does not work and keep moving forward
May each and every one of you have a glorious new year filled with love, joy and abundance in every way!!
