We are about to wrap up the Las Vegas session of Leadership Source, and it's been an amazing group of people to work with who have achieved over-the-top results! I have also had the extreme honor to work with two of our many exquisite Leadership Coaches, Diana Navratil and Karen Millerwise, who have been 100% committed to these leaders and have passionately coached them to their results. I want to share with you some of the incredible accomplishments that not only did we observe in them, but we witnessed what they realized in themselves!
"I have increased my self-confidence; I am in action creating my dreams; I am mentoring a colleague; I am being a better boss by being the model for others to thrive in their roles; I have begun listening more and am amazed at the clarity I have from that alone; I have improved in my work-life balance; I am delegating and creating ownership and cohesiveness with my teams; I am much more relaxed when presenting; I am practicing servant leadership, it's about them not me."
One person summed it up this way, "I am transitioning from a manager who did everything, to one who doesn't, I listen, ask questions and let them come up with their answer."
There is so much more, and I think you get the picture, once we focus on the things we want, and others hold us accountable for that, we each become better leaders! That's what is available in working with one of our exquisite Leadership Coaches in Leadership Source.
So, if you want to increase the level of your effectiveness, run, don't walk to Leadership Source. Our graduates learn how much they don't hear/aren't listening and find improving this area alone creates a whole new experience for them in creating results.
Here are some tips to improve your listening:
- Resist external distractions - concentrate on concentrating so that noises don't distract your ability to listen.
- Hold your rebuttal - watch out for "hot buttons", don't let emotion-laden words throw you. Begin to recognize words where you stop
listening and form rebuttals before the person speaking has finished speaking. - Keep an open mind - Ask questions to clarify for understanding. Give the speaker more rather than less attention.
- Work at listening - efficient listening takes energy - practice makes it easier.
- Practice regularly - listening to difficult or unfamiliar material that challenges your mental capacities and forces you to concentrate to obtain information.

Here's a broader picture of what' possible from Aimee, recent graduate from Las Vegas Leadership:
"Source Point's Leadership training program is more than a 10-week training course - it is a program which teaches valuable principles and sustainable approaches for long-term positive impacts - both personally and professionally. The outcome was more than I could have imagined, as the training has added tremendous value to my life and enriched my understanding of others both inside and outside of the workplace. The course addresses topics such as commitment, intention, conflict resolution, and interpersonal style profiles to shape the change you may seek in your day to day interactions. Additionally, the weekly coaching calls with a performance coach (which is something not offered by most training vendors), creates an environment of accountability and collaboration. The Source Point instructors and coaches themselves are exceptional training professionals who should really serve as a model for all industry trainers, as the hard work and dedication they put into the course preparation shines through in their delivery. While the 10-week training program may seem like a large up-front commitment, the down-stream impact and benefit is much greater." Aimee G.
One of the beauties of our Leadership Source training is that it brings together for 10 weeks amazing people who give themselves the gift of surprising themselves and each other in discovering deeper understandings and greater possibilities in their lives!
Isn't it time YOU stepped up your game and given yourself 10 weeks to focus on you and your personal and professional development!
