The National Institutes for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Cold Stress Website 

 

NIOSH's Workplace Safety & Health Topics website includes a page dedicated to cold stress issues. The information provided on this page includes detailed descriptions of various types of cold temperature hazards (hypothermia, cold water immersion, frostbite, trench foot and chilblains) and the typical symptoms for each. Recommended employer and employee practices to prevent cold stress hazards are also provided. A downloadable two-page Fast Facts reference guide that lists the symptoms, first aid and protective measures is available, as well as other cold weather guidance documents provided by CDC.
