2020 Vision: Building for God's Glory

We are pleased to provide an update on the work of the Capital Campaign committee. The committee is creating a plan to provide the funding we need to achieve our building goals.

The first important step was to name the campaign. After much prayer and discussion, we chose 2020 Vision: Building for God's Glory. We like this name because the goal of the building program is to glorify God by achieving His purpose and His vision for the church.

Activities will begin in December with an invitation to the first prayer meeting to seek God's will throughout the campaign. In the final months of this year, the committee will prepare for the launch of the campaign, which will start in late January. Everyone will be invited to a pledge event planned for March 15. In late March we will be able to reveal the funding levels achieved and the implications for Building for God's Glory.

We would be pleased to meet with any one who wishes to donate to the building program before the end of the year. Please contact Jerry Lewis so we can provide you with the materials and the giving options for the campaign.

Please prayerfully consider how God might want you to get involved with the building program. Joining God in His work is the most productive thing we can do to further His kingdom. Please feel free to contact any of the committee members below if you have questions or would like to get involved.

New Deacons Commissioned
Our new deacons are in place after a very moving and meaningful service of testimony and challenge. Our 8 new deacons brings our total deacon family to 21. They have three primary responsibilities. They prepare for and serve the Lord's Supper, they assist the pastoral staff with every baptism, and they run our family ministry program. We ask you to be in prayer for our body of deacons as they serve all of us throughout the year. If you have not connected with your deacon yet, see Pastor Glenn and he will help with that connection.
What's Happening in the Youth Group?
The youth group says a sad goodbye to the Reynolds family. Steve has been called to a pastorate in Cuba, New Mexico, and for some reason, he's taking Laura and Ruth with him. We have been so blessed to have Steve & Laura's leadership with our youth and they will be greatly missed. The search committee for the next youth minister was selected on Sunday night at the Family Meeting. As they get started on that process, our kids are in good hands as Tyler Sanders continues his role as our Youth Associate and Dan McLennon will continue his leadership on Sunday mornings. We ask you to pray for the Reynolds as they move and for the committee as they begin this important search. Plan to join us on Sunday, Nov 9, at noon for a reception to honor Steve, Laura and Ruth.
Meal Train for the Theisen Family
By now, most of you know that Anna Theisen decided to make her grand entrance a couple of months early. She was in the hospital for 6 weeks putting on some weight, learning to breathe on her own and various other little things that allow you to come home with your parents. She did a marvelous job with all those things and is now home with mom & dad. We would like to bless them by helping with some meals as they make all the adjustments to a new baby in the house. If you would like to participate and love on Matthew & Catherine a little bit, click here to sign up for a spot in the meal rotation as we help them out.
Operation Christmas Child
A small shoebox can have a big impact. What goes into the box is fun, but what comes out of it is eternal. Be a part of changing children's lives all over the world in Jesus' Name through the power of a simple gift with Operation Christmas Child.

Join others at TBC in sending a shoebox to children in need across the globe. Boxes are filled with toys and school supplies. They are delivered with love and the gospel message. Bring your full and labelled box (don't forget $7 shipping please) to TBC by Sunday, Nov 23. You can pick up a box at the table in the Gallery (or provide your own) along with packing instructions for the box. If you have questions please contact Susan Butler or click here to learn how to pack your box.

Lost your label sheet?  Click here
Want to track where your box gets delivered?  Track here.

Finally, take a moment and watch these moving videos.  Tissues recommended!  Watch this video before bedtime and ask your children to pray for their boxes during night-time prayers.  You will marvel at the tenderness and passion in your children's prayers! Video 1 & Video 2
Turkey Bowl Extravaganza Extraordinaire
What started as a harmless youth event has turned into a church-wide Thanksgiving event for the whole family. Join us at Country Club Bowl on Wed, Nov. 26th, at 7 pm for a fun evening  and it does not matter whether you plan to bowl or just sit and chat with friends. College kids will be back in town. Families with children will join us. And don't worry about missing church because there are no activities scheduled other than this special night before Turkey Day. See Tyler Sanders for more details.
Open Door at Thanksgiving
The Open Door Ministry in Sausalito has prepared and served meals for a variety of disabled, homeless, or otherwise disadvantaged citizens and families every Friday night since 1987. This includes holidays and with Thanksgiving coming up, we need your help. If you are able to cook a turkey and deliver it on Thanksgiving Day, please let Herb Drake know that you can assist. As the colder weather is approaching, warm clothing is also needed. You can drop them by the food bin in the Gallery for pick-up. Thank you for your generosity and prayers.
Lottie Moon Christmas Offering
We know what you're thinking. Didn't we pay her off last year or the year before. This special offering that supports our International Mission Board missionaries provides resources for all of their needs from salary, housing, health insurance, transportation, retirement, education for their children, and much more. When they come home to visit with us, they don't have to ask for support. We already do that weekly through the Cooperative Program and annually through this special offering named for one of our missionary heroes, Charlotte Diggs Moon. She was affectionately called Lottie Moon and while serving in China was instrumental in calling on churches to support SBC mission efforts all over the world. We are grateful for your missions heart as we give to reach our TBC goal of $20,000 that will go towards our national goal of $175 million. Thank you for your ongoing support of our international missions family.
Women's Christmas Teas
The annual Christmas Teas for the women of TBC and their friends will take place on Saturday, Dec 7th, from 2-4 pm, in a variety of homes across Marin County. This is a perfect event to invite a friend who is not a part of our fellowship. Ladies are encouraged to sign up in the Gallery beginning on Sunday, Nov 23.
On Our Way To Bethlehem
The Christmas Music Festival will again feature our children and youth musicians retelling the story of Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. You're invited to join us on Sun, Dec 7, at 5 pm as we celebrate Christmas with our young musicians. Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to share your church with your friends and neighbors who have young children.
The First Noel
This year's Community Christmas Musical will feature our adult choir, drama team, children's choir, and a professional orchestra. Join us for one of two performances on Dec 14th at 4 pm or 6 pm. We will host a reception with holiday goodies after the 6 pm performance. Invite your friends and family to this holiday experience. And make sure to come early as this event historically proves to fill the sanctuary.
Worshipping with your Children
Including our children in worship is a part of the ethos of TBC. We feel it is important for children to learn Big Church from firsthand experience. We are producing a series of worship helps and suggestions to encourage you and your children. You can access these by clicking here. See Pastor Brice for more details.
Big God Ministries: Thanksgiving Turkeys
For the past several years, Big God Ministries has provided turkeys at Thanksgiving and toys at Christmas for families across Marin County. Last year they gave out 1,000 turkeys, and this year they hope to give away 5,000. They cannot do this without our help. Pastor David Hall is a trusted friend of TBC and we hope you will help with this ministry effort right here in our county. You can make your donation out to Big God Ministries (they are non-profit) and mail it to:

If you have any questions or wish to take an active hands-on role in this ministry, contact Pastor Glenn.
