Tiburon Baptist Church

June & July 2014

The Tiburon Tidings eNewsletter

The summer schedule is upon us and we will be busier than ever. We combine the summer months of June & July into one Tidings issue. This opening article will be much shorter than usual in order for you to focus on the various undertakings that we encounter during these summer months. There is something for everyone in the list of summer activities to follow. Make sure to mark your calendars and get items that require registration taken care of as soon as possible. It is our prayer that you and your family will have a safe and enjoyable summer, even in all of its busy comings and goings.

FUPARC Vote on Sunday, June 8th
This coming Sunday, June 8th, the membership of TBC will have an opportunity to vote by ballot to determine the next steps in our decision-making process regarding the renovation of our building. The vote will take place in both the 8:30 and 11:00 morning services. We hope you will make every effort to be present for this important vote in the life of our church family.
Cecile's Craft Sale
Cecile's Craft table will be back in business on June 22. This time the proceeds go toward our Feed Those Who Feed Us project scheduled for July 7-11 at the Davis Migrant Center. You will find gifts for everyone. The recent sale for Gabby Gaskell's support toward her daily treatments at Stanford raised nearly $600. Be ready to support Cecile's incredible effort again. A special thanks to Cecile for all her hard work and to you for supporting these important ministries.
Sports Camp 2014 - SIGN-UP NOW!
Your children ages 4-11 will not want to miss Sports Camp this summer. Camp will include Bible study, great music, testimonies from the Uncharted Waters coaches, snacks, and of course sports. The 4-5 year olds will have their own special time of play and activity time. Camp is Mon - Fri, June 23-27, from 9:15 to 12:15 each morning. Please visit the information table in the Gallery on Sunday for more information or Click Here to register. Scholarships are available.
Feed Those Who Feed Us
As we gear up for our second summer of FTWFU, it is our prayer that you will plan to join us for a wonderful week of ministry with the migrant farm workers living in Davis on July 7-11. We have adjusted the schedule for activities to spread throughout the week. There are lots of needs from helping with VBS, crafts, music, eye clinic, clothes & food sorting, clothes & food distribution, medical clinic, sports & games, and the week-ending BBQ and evangelistic service. We hope you will set aside part or all of July 7-11 to join us. Contact the church office right away and let Ida know your plans to participate. We will put you on one of the teams of your choice.
What's Happening in the Youth Group?
Our youth will be doing their mission trip this summer helping with Sports Camp on June 23-27 & FTWFU on July 7-11. The youth from Pole Line BC in Davis will be joining them for FTWFU. Then on July 14, they head to Jenness Park for Centrifuge week. Steve has all the details, so if you're not signed up yet for these weeks in June & July, get with the program.

Oh yeah, Steve & Tyler S graduated. They're officially smart now and have the papers to prove it!

Word of Encouragement
Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy."
I Peter 1:13-16

Wisdom

Suppose a nation in some distant region should take the Bible for their only law book, and every member should regulate his conduct by the precepts there exhibited! Every member would be obliged in conscience, to temperance, frugality, and industry; to justice, kindness, and charity towards his fellow men; and to piety, love, and reverence toward Almighty God ... What a Eutopia, what a paradise would this region be.
