If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it. Genesis 4:7
Why did God give us the ability to choose between right and wrong? In fact, why do we have the opportunity to personally select all that we think or do? Would it not have been much easier for God to program us with limited options? Push A for the obedience mode, push B for the praise mode, push C for the thanks mode. End of story.
God gave you the capacity for choices because He Himself has that ability. Since we are made in His image, we receive a sample or shadow of God's gift for preferences.
But why do we sometimes prefer sinful ways?
We often make poor decisions because we're ignorant of God's ways. We're uninformed. Once we study God's Word, we make a change. But we also can be duped by Satan, just like Adam and Eve. We wrongly believe that our approach to life is better than what God has shown us.
We don't have to make poor choices. Sin doesn't need to dominate us. Instead, God invites us to be the master. We have the ability to stop listening to our flesh, to the world, to Satan. And if we lack wisdom for making good decisions, God has promised to give that as well. Perhaps most importantly, we can choose to surrender to the Holy Spirit. When temptation is too strong, or our trials are overwhelming, we can yield to His power. The power to choose is one of our most impressive abilities and the most dangerous. Choose wisely

Dear Church family, the Kwok family would like to thank all of you for your prayers, expressions of sympathy, and encouraging words as we mourn the passing of my mother. Support for Tahoe City Baptist Church
For many years, TBC has been collecting and donating used ink jets, cell phones, and laser toners to Tahoe City Baptist Church. The money Tahoe City receives from recycling these items has been used to provide financial support for the church day school and other programs including 4 vans for transporting children to and from school. In addition, the church provides a preschool, before and after school ministry equipped with computers, Big A Club, Parents' Night Out, My Morning Out, Bible studies, and church services at 6 different ski areas. The church averages ministering to at least 100 children each day year round. About 80% of the children who attend these ministries do not go to church anywhere. The field is ripe and ready for harvest. They appreciate your continued support by donating ink jets, cell phones, and laser toners in the box in the gallery. Bill & Jean Hagler will deliver them.

Word of Encouragement
In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God,did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothingby taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,he humbled himselfby becoming obedient to death-even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,to the glory of God the Father.
