Greetings!
Happy New Year! As we begin 2013, let's be encouraged to Respect Patterns in the New Year! For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. Isaiah 55:8
Before the beginning of time, God rolled out the blueprints for the universe. To demonstrate His ingenuity, the Creator decided to use patterns in all He made. In the vastness of space, God placed over 10 billion galaxies, yet He utilized a few basic styles. He produced 28,000 different types of butterflies, but they all followed the same structure. Even humans, though they may vary from race to race, are made from the same pattern. In the midst of complexity there is simplicity.
When we see designs in nature, it is logical to infer the presence of a Grand Designer. This fact alone is enough to drive us to worship. That's the whole idea behind the intricacies of our planet. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. Romans 1:20
Worship, however, is only the beginning. What God ultimately desires is our trust. If He's able to invent and assemble such an awe-inspiring world, how much more is He capable of directing our humble existence? You can entrust your entire life to God. He's worthy of your faith. Don't worry if He doesn't do things your way. He's already given us that warning. His thoughts aren't like ours and His ways are different from what we'd expect.
As you look forward towards a new year, seek to know God and His ways. They're found, just like at creation, in patterns. As you conform to God's designs, your life will become abundant, fulfilling and focused on God's glory. Enjoy!

Sign up for the San Quentin Clearance List
Many of you have wanted to be a part of the TBC family as we go into San Quentin for worship experiences on select Saturday nights in 2013. You don't have to sing in the choir to be a part of the group. Stop by the table in the Gallery, fill out the card and make sure to give that card directly to Pastor Glenn or Jeannie Bader. Do not leave it laying on the table. As soon as we learn the dates for the year, we will publish those. |
TAHOE CITY BAPTIST CHURCH The Tahoe City Baptist Church celebrated by burning the note on the mortgage for their parsonage. While they have been paying off this mortgage they have continued to collect and recycle used ink jet cartridges, cell phones, laser toners, etc. The money they receive is used to provide financial support for the church day school and after school programs. It has equipped them with computers and vans to transport many of their students to and from the church to their schools each day.
TBC continues to receive any items listed above to be recycled. Please place them in the container in the church Gallery marked for that purpose and the Haglers will transfer them to the Tahoe City church. thanks

Word of Encouragement
Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ's afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church. I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness - the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord's people. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
