Greetings!
Hi Well, we finally took our boat in for the year but not before Matt caught a 3-1/4 pound bass on Friday. The water is still so clear you can see 25 feet down in the water. What can you see? Lots of bass that make that 3-1/4 pound bass look like a minnow, large walleyes also can be seen as well as pike and a few catfish. One part of the lake there seems to be a lot of fish while other parts fish are hard to spot. Where are the fish? That's something we are not willing to divulge right now. The fish still seem hungry too since the bass had a nice sized bluegill in its tummy. While we didn't eat the bass yet, from past experience, the bass caught in cold water from Pickerel and Kimbal lakes--October through May (when legal)-- are delicious. Bass caught in July and August are OK but they must be skinned or they have a bassy taste. Also, I want to mention we planted some lettuce plants in our unheated greenhouse by the lake and hope to pick some lettuce starting in late winter--late February through March. Last year our winter lettuce did fabulously, although that winter wasn't a good test since it was abnormally warm--even hot in late winter/early spring. I will be keeping those who read my blog (www.blog.magiclandfarms.com) informed about how the lettuce is coming. Soon we will have a youtube video out on our winter lettuce we planted last January. We also are working on making another video on this winter's lettuce, although that will take spring to complete. This is another reason to subscribe to our youtube channels. For more information on how to subscribe go to our you tube channels ; http://youtube.com/magiclandfarms and http://youtube.com//youtube.com/coolcontraptionguy We have several new videos out there since my last newsletter. While I won't be putting out many newsletters between now and April, you can still stay in touch on what is happening at Magicland Farms by reading my blog. I want to wish everyone who has been kind enough to read my newsletters and blog and view my videos and keep in touch with us via Twitter and Facebook ,a very joyful Christmas and a truly blessed New Year.
