Continuing our exploration of Paramahansa Yogananda's revelatory interpretations of the great mystical writings of East and West, we are pleased to share with you " The Hidden Truths in the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam," the third installment of " The Hidden Truths in the Scriptures." Wine of the Mystic, Paramahansa Yogananda's commentary on the well-loved but long-misunderstood masterpiece − The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam − reveals that behind the poet's outward imagery is hidden a profoundly beautiful understanding of the joy and sublime purpose of human existence. As I worked on the spiritual interpretation of the Rubaiyat , it took me into an endless labyrinth of truth, until I was rapturously lost in wonderment. The veiling of Khayyam's metaphysical and practical philosophy in these verses reminds me of 'The Revelation of St. John the Divine.' The Rubaiyat may rightly be called 'The Revelation of Omar Khayyam.'Read more

A Thanksgiving Message From Sri Mrinalini Mata

 Greetings from all of us in Paramahansa Yogananda's ashrams at this blessed time of Thanksgiving. May it be a reminder to open our eyes and our hearts to rejoice in all that is good and beautiful in our lives − a renewal of that wonderful spiritual practice which maintains a constant sacred interchange between ourselves and the Divine: gratitude. By thankfulness, the One who loves us eternally and is sustaining us at every moment is revealed behind the tiniest and most majestic manifestations of nature, in the wisdom of great souls, in every kindness we receive, and in the soul-whispers of our own consciousness.

India's Festival of Lights Strengthens East-West Bond
|
Diwali, the Hindu "festival of lights," was celebrated for the first time by the United States Congress on October 29.... At the Massachusetts State House, another Diwali celebration took place on November 4, organized by Boston's South Asian Arts Council. Self-Realization Fellowship ministers Brothers Prafullananda and Devananda assisted Governor Deval Patrick in lighting the traditional lamp.
