Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Howl for the Animals

To help kick off the Halloween season, Cocheco Valley Humane Society is holding a special event called Howl for the Animals. Taking place on Saturday, October 18th from 11am to 2pm at DeMeritt Hill Farm in Lee, NH, Howl for the Animals marks the official opening weekend of Haunted Overload day. In addition to activities happening at the farm, CVHS will be offering a bounce house, games, crafts, and a special opportunity to trick-or-treat through the Haunted Overload day haunt. Non-scary characters will be on hand to pass out candy and guests are encouraged to come in costume.The day haunt is also Fido-friendly, so be sure to bring every member of your family!

The Mounted Unit is funded entirely through donations so this fundraiser during their Open House serves as their main event to support the horses for the year.  The fundraiser will occur during the Open house..a game of Barn Bingo. Make sure to go say hi and show your support. Purchase tickets here!

Dover Moose Benefit Breakfast

October 19, Dover Moose Lodge from 8-11 

There will be good food and raffles. Tickets are available at the Dover Chamber of Commerce office or at the door for $5.00 each. Although Kelley's Row  is officially closing for good, proceeds of the breakfast will benefit Blue Latitudes and all the employees of both restaurants displaced by the sewage overflow.Donations of gift baskets or gift certificates from downtown businesses for the raffle are welcome and volunteers to wait tables and clean-up are needed.  Contact Peg Purcell at 749-0555 to donate or volunteer. Please come together as a community and show how Dover residents can stand together to help those affected by this unfortunate situation.

Healthy Living Series

Join the American Lung Association and Balance A Women's GYM for their Healthy Living Series.. The event will take place at 125 Brewery Lane in Portsmouth, and will feature local experts in nutrition, pilates, cycling and outdoor winter activities to share tips and tricks for maintaining a healthy lifestyle through the fall and winter months. Hosts the USAF Langley Winds

Enjoy a concert given by the United States Air Force Langley Winds of the USAF Heritage of America Band at the Rochester Opera House on November 10, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public, however, tickets are required to attend due to space limitations. Dover Adult Learning Center Eggshell Mosaic Art, Journal to Journey, and Writing the Resume Classes

Don't miss out on these exciting classes coming up at DALC! Eggshell Mosaic Art teaches the basic technique of eggshell mosaic and sends you home with your own newly created artwork for framing; this is a three-week class that runs on Mondays, 5:30-7:30pm, starting October 20. Journal to Journey is a new offering for this fall, taking place on Wednesday, October 22 from 6-8:30pm; in this course you will learn to accelerate your personal development by accessing and releasing thoughts from your head and feelings from your body through the process of journaling. Whether you have never written a resume or just need to update one you already have, How to Write Your Resume will teach you the best ways to present your experience, skills, and career goals; this class runs on Monday, October 27, 6-8pm.
