Apple Harvest Day
Saturday, October 4th, 9am-4pm
Join us this Saturday as we celebrate our 30th Annual Apple Harvest Day underwritten by Federal Savings Bank. The 6th Annual Apple Harvest Day 5K underwritten by Pain Care and Salmon Falls starts at 8:30am on River Street. Online registration has closed but in person registration and bib pick up is Friday, October 3rd from 5-7pm at the Rotary Arts Pavilion Stage in Upper Henry Law. Want to beat the traffic at Apple Harvest Day this year? Ride the shuttle! Apple Harvest Day has three shuttles running every 20 minutes from our three satellite parking facilities. They are located at 118 Central Avenue (CVS), 279 Locust Street (Behind CVS) and 100 Liberty Way (Liberty Mutual). The Liberty Mutual Lot will be serviced by Wentworth-Douglas Hospital and Portsmouth Christian Academy shuttles and will drop Festival goers by the intersection of Third Street and Central Avenue. The other two lots will be serviced by the St Thomas Aquinas High School shuttle and will drop Festival goers off at the intersection of Washington and Central Ave. This is a rain or shine event.

Artstream Coupon Hunt
Saturday, October 4th, 9am-4pm
To celebrate Apple Harvest Day, Artsteam has created 25 tiny apple sculptures that will be filled in their "cores" with surprise coupons. The sculptures will be strategically placed in both businesses and outside along the Central Avenue area. Dover Professional Firefighters Local 1312 and Dover Professional Fire Officers Local 2909 are partnering with Operation Warm. They are committed to providing brand-new winter coats for at least 200 local children. Please join them in their fight against poverty: Donate here and attend:
Dover Bowl on Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 11am-1pm. $100 per team, max of 5 people per team. The owner has offered to shut down the facility for them to use exclusively during this time period with all proceeds going towards Operation Warm. If they can sell out this event we have the potential to raise upwards of $2200-$2600 with this one event!

Kids Fall Consignment Sale
The Childrens Museum of New Hampshire is having its Fall Consignment Sale of children's clothing and gear. The sale will be held at the Hellenic Center at 219 Long Hill Road in Dover. The sale is open on to the public on Saturday, October 4 from 9:30 am - 4 pm and on Sunday, October 6 from 10 am - 1 pm. Past sales have featured more than 10,000 items. People who consign items will earn 60% of the revenue from their sold items. The remaining net proceeds will benefit the Children's Museum of NH and its vital education and outreach programs.

First Annual Charity Bike Ride
The Monarch School of New England, the Rochester Main Street Program
and the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce host the first charity bike ride in Rochester, New Hampshire. On Saturday, October 11, the Monarch School of New England the Rochester Main Street Program and the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce, will host the first charity bike ride to be held in Rochester, New Hampshire. 2nd Annual ISM Memorial Bridge Road Race Comes to Portsmouth Columbus Day Weekend
On Saturday, October 11th Seacoast Community School and Prescott Park Arts Festival are proud to present the 2nd Annual ISM Memorial Bridge 5k Road Race, part of the Chamber of Commerce's Run Portsmouth series. Awards and a Kid's Fun Run immediately follow the race, as well as the 25th Annual WHEB Chili Fest, featuring Redhook beer, live music, and all the chili you can eat. Game on in the fight against breast cancer!
On October 11th the Portsmouth Christian Academy Girls Volleyball Team will be hosting a Dig Pink Tournament at PCA. All proceeds benefit the Side-Out Foundation, which in turn awards grants to medical research organizations and entities dedicated to providing patient services to breast cancer patients and their families. Your participation gives the volleyball community the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of all breast cancer patients. Admission is $5. The game starts at 6pm. The Citizens' Leadership Academy will feature discussions about local government and municipal operations and will introduce Dover citizens to opportunities to engage in shaping the future of our city by volunteering to join with others and participate as a member of one of many city boards, commissions and civic organizations.
